Our Father in Heaven, we pause today to pray for British Columbia as wildfires threaten communities across our province. We ask first for the protection of life. Watch over those living under evacuation alerts or orders, and give peace to families forced from their homes. Protect and strengthen the firefighters, pilots, emergency personnel, and volunteers working long and exhausting hours. Give them courage, endurance, and wisdom as conditions change. Place Your hand over homes, businesses, farms, livestock, and critical infrastructure. Restrain the advancing flames and protect vulnerable communities. Give wisdom to provincial, local, and First Nations leaders, as well as everyone coordinating the emergency response. Lord, change the weather conditions across British Columbia. Lower the temperatures, calm the winds, and increase the humidity. Most importantly, send steady, soaking rain—enough to slow the fires, refresh the land, clear the air, and bring relief to those fighting the flames. You are our refuge in times of trouble, and we turn to You with confidence and hope. In Jesus’ name, Amen.
