Oh sovereign Lord, we lift up to you the 105 men and women in the Senate of the Parliament of Canada. As they work to scrutinize legislation, suggest improvements and fix mistakes from other centres of governance, will you work through them by your spirit to shape and improve Canada’s service to its people. Give the Senate leaders wisdom in their debates, confidence in their discussions of the weighty matters of our nation. As they work to give voice to underrepresented groups like Indigenous peoples, visible minorities and women, help them as they guide our legislators, politicians and all in government to lead and operate with fairness and justice for all. God, strengthen them for this important work and protect their families and loved ones. And as laws and legislation are finalized and put into action, may they reflect your divine law so that your name will be honoured in our nation of Canada and in all the earth. Amen.
