Psalm 34:18 CSBThe Lord is near the brokenhearted; he saves those crushed in spirit.
Lord, today we remember British Columbians living with mental illness, addiction and the devastating effects of the toxic-drug crisis. Comfort families who have lost someone they love. Give strength to those pursuing recovery. Grant wisdom to counsellors, recovery workers, first responders, churches and community organizations serving on the front lines. Give our leaders compassion joined with wisdom — policies that protect life, restore dignity, encourage recovery and help people find a path toward wholeness. May hope rise in places where despair has taken hold. In Jesus’ name, Amen.
