Hon. Randy Weekes, Biggar-Sask Valley

God, we pray and give thanks for Hon Randy Weekes. As he adjusts to his new role as House Speaker, we ask that you would give him wisdom and discernment. May he be alert, just and fair in his responsibilities to keep order in the House. As MLA representing Biggar-Sask Valley, we pray he will continue to know the heart of the people and represent them well. Lord, we ask for health and safety for Mr. Weeks and his family. Randy was first elected in 1999 as the MLA for Redberry Lake and re-elected in 2003, 2007, 2011, 2016 and 2020 as the MLA for Biggar-Sask Valley. On November 30, 2020, he was elected by his fellow MLAs to serve as Speaker. While in opposition, Randy served as critic for Highways and Transportation, Environment, and Labour, and deputy critic for Immigration and Information Services Corporation. Randy was born in Biggar and grew up on the nearby family farm. He studied at the University of Saskatchewan and received a diploma in Agriculture, before returning to farm and ranch with his family. Randy and his wife Cindy make their home near Biggar.
