Heavenly Father we lift up Honourable Claire Trevena today to you. We ask for wisdom and discernment to be upon her. That you would increase her ability to be the visionary you called her to be as she leads. May Claire and Mike be able to find the time to rest and rejuvenate in their busy schedules. Claire was first elected MLA for North Island in 2005 and was re-elected in 2009, 2013, and 2017. She is the Minister of Transportation and Infrastructure. Claire served as the Official Opposition spokesperson for Transportation and Infrastructure, B.C. Ferries, and B.C. Transit.  Claire is a former journalist, activist and international development worker.  In the early 1990s, Claire came to Canada as the BBC’s Canada correspondent. Awarded the Canadian Civilian Peacekeeping Medal, she’s worked on democratic development projects overseas and in Canada.  Claire was an active trade unionist in her professional life. Since moving to B.C., she has been involved in a number of community and environmental initiatives. She was elected to the board of the Quadra Community Association and held a seat on the Regional District of Comox Strathcona Regional Area J Advisory Planning Committee.
