Dear Heavenly Father, You are good and faithful, and we thank You for the Honourable Jamie Martens. We ask that You bless Jamie as she carries out her duties and responsibilities. We are grateful for the promise in Romans 8:28, which reminds us that “all things work together for good for those who love God and are called according to His purpose.” Lord, bless Jamie in her work and grant her wisdom, strength, and discernment. Bless her family, friends, and children, and surround them with Your peace and protection. We also ask Your blessing over the people of Martensville–Blairmore and all the people of Saskatchewan. In Jesus’ name we pray, Amen.
Born and raised in Martensville, Jamie is currently the City’s Deputy Mayor, and has served on Martensville City Council since 2012. Before entering municipal politics, she served as an Auxiliary Constable with the RCMP, before joining the Deputy Sheriff’s Office in Regina, where she worked for 16 years. Jamie was elected and served for three successive terms as a Saskatchewan representative at the Federation of Canadian Municipalities. During her three terms at the FCM, her duties included being the Vice-Chair of the Canadian Rural Forum and as a delegate to the ongoing Canadian Women in Local Leadership Project. Jamie lives in Martensville with her three children.
