Hon Jason Kenney, Calgary-Lougheed


Lord God today we bring our Leader of the Opposition Jason Kenney before Your throne of grace and thank You for for the love and compassion he shows toward the people of Calgary-Lougheed and the province of Alberta.  Lord continue to lead and guide Jason as he strives to hold our government accountable and as he leads his United Conservative Party.  Jesus thank you for his long and faithful service in public life and bless as he continues to serve.  In Your name. The Honourable Jason Kenney, PC, was elected for the constituency of Calgary-Lougheed in the December 14, 2017, by-election. He was subsequently sworn in as a Member of Alberta’s 29th Legislative Assembly on January 29, 2018. He is Leader of the Official Opposition.
Prior to his service with the Legislative Assembly of Alberta, he was a Member of Parliament, an MP, from July 2, 1997, to September 23, 2016. During his more than six terms as an MP he represented the constituencies of Calgary Southeast and Calgary Midnapore.
During his service with Parliament he held several executive portfolios, including Minister of National Defence, Minister of Multiculturalism and Minister of Employment and Social Development. Kenney began his public life as president of the Canadian Taxpayers Federation.
