Joe Ceci was elected to his third term in the Legislative Assembly of Alberta on May 29, 2023, representing Calgary-Buffalo after previously serving Calgary-Fort. He currently serves on the Standing Committee on Private Bills and previously served as President of Treasury Board and Minister of Finance during his first term. Before entering provincial politics, he worked in social work, family counselling, and public policy, and also served as a Calgary alderman for 15 years. Over more than three decades, he has been actively involved in the community through organizations such as the Folk Festival Society of Calgary, Habitat for Humanity, and the Calgary Bridge Foundation for Youth, receiving several awards for his service. MLA Ceci holds bachelor’s and master’s degrees in social work, is the author of a published work titled Breaking the Cycle, and lives in Calgary with his wife, Christine.
