Heavenly Father, we trust your Word which says that praying for those in authority over us brings blessing and well-being to our lives. We now lift up to your throne of grace MPP Laurie Scott, thanking you for her life and leadership; may you grant her grace and wisdom for her parliamentary role. We pray that her efforts and endeavours would result in an abundance and variety of blessing for both her and her family, as well as for the people of Laurie’s riding. Thank you for this, in Jesus’ name. Amen.
Laurie Scott is the Member of Provincial Parliament for Haliburton—Kawartha Lakes—Brock, having been elected five times to represent her constituents at Queen’s Park since 2003. On June 29, 2018, she was appointed to Ontario’s Executive Council as Minister of Labour; she currently serves as the Minister of Infrastructure. Laurie was born and raised in Kinmount and credits her late father Bill Scott, the local Federal Member of Parliament for 28 years, with having instilled in her a strong commitment to public service and the importance of giving back to your community.
