Precious Lord, we bring the Honourable Matt Wiebe before You today. Cover him with Your strength as he carries out his responsibilities as Attorney General and Minister of Justice. These roles come with great importance and we ask that Mr. Wiebe be inspired by Your Word. May he be driven to make decisions that will keep Manitobans safe and provide him with the counsel needed to ensure this. Bless him, Lord, rest when he is tired, peace when he is anxious and wisdom and he is unsure. In Jesus’ name we pray. Amen.
Matt Wiebe was first elected as the MLA for Concordia in 2010. He has served in a variety of roles including the whip for the official opposition, chair of the Public Accounts Committee, as well as critic for health, education, municipal relations, infrastructure and most recently, justice. Wiebe holds a bachelor’s degree in economics and a master’s degree in public administration from the University of Manitoba. Prior to politics, he served on several community boards and with local advocacy groups around issues of literacy, newcomer services and community safety.
