Hon Michelle Mungall, Nelson-Creston (Demo)

Lord, today we want to pray again for the Honourable Michelle Mungall, as she continues to serve not only the riding of Nelson-Creston, but also serves in the important capacity as the Minister of Energy, Mines and Petroleum Resources. From a young age, you have given her a deep desire to use her energy and talents to serve her fellow citizens, first in Nelson and the Kootenays, but now for several years in our provincial government. Thank you, Lord, for her heart for social justice and community development that even led her to serve in Zambia. With all of the recent controversy about oil pipelines, and considering the impact of the devastating fires in BC this summer, grant Michelle discernment as she considers the best utilization of the incredible natural resources in our beautiful province. Richly bless Michelle and her husband, Zak, in all of their involvements in this coming year. Amen……………….

Michelle Mungall was first elected MLA for Nelson-Creston in 2009, and re-elected in 2013 and 2017. She is the Minister of Energy, Mines and Petroleum Resources. In 2002, Michelle was the youngest person ever elected to Nelson city council, and seven years later, at age 31, Michelle became the first woman elected as MLA in Nelson-Creston. Internationally, Michelle worked as a National Programs Assistant for YMCA Zambia, helping to improve the lives of girls with HIV/AIDS. Michelle and her husband Zak live in Nelson. They enjoy skiing, hiking, local arts and being active in the region.
