Hon. Muhammad Yaseen, Calgary-North

Heavenly Father, we are grateful today for the Honourable Muhammad Yaseen. We are thankful that you have raised him up to where he is today, and we ask that you would give him special favour in all he does. Grant him wisdom to do what is right, and grace with all people. We pray your blessing and protection to be on his family. We pray in Jesus’ name. Amen.

Muhammad Yaseen was elected in 2019 and now serves as Minister of Immigration and Multiculturalism. Prior to serving, Mr. Yaseen worked in the oil industry for almost 40 years. An engineer by profession, he is experienced in reservoir/joint ventures engineering, and he has held advisory roles for processing, transportation, contracts and projects. He holds a bachelor of science in petroleum engineering from the University of Wyoming, a master’s degree in civil engineering from the University of Calgary and a master of business administration from the University of Phoenix. Mr. Yaseen is an active member of his community, volunteering with the Canadian Red Cross and the Pakistan Canada Association for many years. Mr. Yaseen was awarded the Queen Elizabeth II Diamond Jubilee Medal in November 2012 by then Lieutenant Governor of Alberta, the Honourable Donald S. Ethell. He enjoys reading, walking and volunteering and speaks English, Urdu and Punjabi.
