Hon. Nathan Cooper, Olds-Didsbury-Three Hills

Heavenly Father, it is a privilege to pray for Speaker Nathan Cooper and his family.  Lord, we ask for your loving-kindness to bless Nathan especially in the days ahead.  Give him the wisdom and knowledge he seeks in order to serve his family and the people of Alberta.  Guard him and guide his steps.  May he look to you for strength and the principles on which to base his decisions.   In your mercy and grace heal any sorrow which he may harbour, and give him blessings to flourish.  Amen.

Nathan Cooper was elected in 2015 and again in 2019. On May 21, 2019, he was elected by his fellow MLAs to serve as the 14th Speaker of the Legislative Assembly of Alberta. He also serves as the chair of the Special Standing Committee on Members’ Services. Prior to serving as MLA, Mr. Cooper held a number of positions but most recently was chief of staff and director of legislative affairs for the Wildrose caucus. Previous to this, he served two terms as councillor for the town of Carstairs. Having been involved in the 4-H program from a young age, Mr. Cooper continues to support 4-H as a volunteer judge. Mr. Cooper also had the privilege of being a Rotary Club exchange student in 1998 and still continues to support the Rotary Club today.
