MLA Randy Weekes, Biggar-Sask Valley

Proverbs 17:22 says, “A cheerful disposition is good for your health.” Lord we thank you for Hon Randy Weekes and the work he does as MLA representing Biggar-Sask Valley and Speaker of the Legislative Assembly of Saskatchewan. We pray that he will carry out his duties with joy in his heart, a smile on his face, and boundless energy. May his cheerful disposition bring encouragement to his family, constituents, colleagues, and all others with whom he comes in contact with. Lord bless him, protect him, and keep him in good health. Randy was first elected in 1999 as the MLA for Redberry Lake and re-elected in 2003, 2007, 2011, 2016 and 2020 as the MLA for Biggar-Sask Valley. On November 30, 2020, he was elected by his fellow MLAs to serve as Speaker. While in opposition, Randy served as critic for Highways and Transportation, Environment, and Labour, and deputy critic for Immigration and Information Services Corporation. Randy was born in Biggar and grew up on the nearby family farm. He studied at the University of Saskatchewan and received a diploma in Agriculture, before returning to farm and ranch with his family. Randy and his wife Cindy make their home near Biggar.
