Heavenly Father, we thank You for Raymond Cho, who serves the people of Ontario by representing the riding of Scarborough North. We thank You for his love for children and for seniors and pray that you would give him much wisdom and insight in how to best care for the aging population. Be with this family – bless his wife and sons. Help him to serve you with integrity, honour and diligence. Let him be planted as a tree by the waters, bearing fruit for many years to come. Give him wisdom and direction to fulfill all that You have called him to do. In the name of our Saviour, Amen………
Dr. Raymond Cho was elected the MPP for Scarborough-Rouge River in a by-election in 2016. He immigrated to Canada from the Republic of Korea in 1967. Despite having worked for the American Embassy in Korea, Raymond could not find a professional job in Canada and worked first as a dishwasher then later a miner in B.C. Soon after, Raymond arrived in Toronto. Having completed his Bachelor of Arts degree in Korea, Raymond pursued and obtained his Master of Social Work, Master of Education, and eventually his Doctorate of Counseling Psychology from the University of Toronto. Prior to becoming an elected official, Raymond worked as a Social Worker for the Catholic Children’s Aid Society, as well as the Toronto District School Board and Scarborough Board of Education. Raymond and his wife, Soon Ok, have been living in Scarborough for the past 40 years, and they have three sons.
