Father, in this day more and more people are moving to the urban areas of our province therefore, we are so thankful that you have raised up Ric McIvor to be our Minister of Municipal Affairs for such a time as this. You foresaw that he would take that position and prepared the way for him by allowing him to serve on Calgary City Council for nine consecutive years. Give him great wisdom to help address the complex issues facing our urban centers and may he aptly represent the needs of his own constituents in Calgary-Hays. We ask that you strengthen him, his wife Christine and all their children and grandchildren in your wonderful name. Amen.
Ric McIver was first elected in 2012 as the MLA for Calgary-Hays. He was re-elected on May 5, 2015, and again on April 16, 2019. He is a husband and father and has served three terms on Calgary’s City Council. He served on the Police Commission and as chair of the Calgary Housing Company while on Council and is a 12-year volunteer with the Calgary Stampede and supports a variety of charitable causes. Ric McIver was appointed as Alberta’s Transportation Minister on April 30, 2019, a position he has served in before.
