Hon. Ronald Orr, Lacombe-Ponoka

Lord we bring the Honourable Ronald Orr to you today. We ask you Father that you would minister to his heart and spirit. Holy Spirit come and move in his life like he has never experienced before that will draw him closer to the heart of Jesus. We ask that you lay out the strategies that he needs as he fulfills his duties as the Minister of Culture. May you give him wisdom which only comes from you. Bless the Honourable Ronald Orr, his wife Donna Marie and their three children. In Jesus’ name we pray. Amen.

Ronald Orr was elected as the Member of the Legislative Assembly for Lacombe-Ponoka on May 5, 2015, re-elected on April 16, 2019 and appointed Minister of Culture on July 8, 2021. Mr. Orr previously served as deputy chair, and currently serves as the chair of the Standing Committee on Alberta Heritage Savings Trust Fund. He has a master’s degree in theology and is an ordained minister. He also holds a journeyman carpenter’s ticket and a registered housing professional certificate and has previously owned a general contracting business. His community involvement includes board positions with a number of charitable organizations, including the Gull Lake Centre and Calgary’s Mustard Seed Society. He also served as a public information officer for the municipal emergency management team for the village of Clive, Alberta. Mr. Orr was born in Calgary and has lived in Lacombe-Ponoka for 13 years. He and his wife, Donna Marie, have three children.
