Hon. Sheila Malcolmson, Nanaimo

Heavenly Father, it is a privilege to pray for Hon Sheila Malcolmson, as she reaches out to those who need help and assistance in this time of uncertainty.  With so many questions on hearts and minds, peace is needed. We pray that Sheila will have amazing direction and support to give the leadership needed to the people of B.C.  You have promised to keep our hearts and minds safe when we seek you.  We are seeking you and asking that your presence will be close to Sheila professionally and personally.  May she be at peace in her heart.  Thank you, for your loving care.  Amen.

Sheila Malcolmson was elected as MLA for Nanaimo in 2019 and appointed Minister of Mental Health and Addictions in November 2020. Prior to her election as an MLA, Sheila was elected four times to the Islands Trust Council, serving six of those years as Chair. She signed a government-to-government protocol between the Snuneymuxw First Nation and the Islands Trust. Prior to entering public life, Sheila worked for Energy Probe, and the Canadian Institute for Environmental Law and Policy. She also served as an advisor to the Saskatchewan Electrical Energy Options Panel and Queen’s University Environmental Policy Centre. Sheila holds a B.A. in Environmental and Resource Studies from Trent University. Sheila lives on Gabriola Island with her partner Howard, a fisheries biologist and climate change researcher.
