Lord, today we thank you for the Honourable Sonya Savage. May Sonya represent the Calgary-North West community well, discerning their needs and listening to their suggestions. As Minister of Energy in the Executive Council of Alberta may she draw on her years of experience in her work in the pipeline sector plus her background in education in the Environment and Energy area. Father, we ask that you continue to equip her and prepare her for all the tasks ahead. Help her to always stand for truth and righteousness. May her heart and eyes be open to you, your voice, your plans and strategies for Alberta. Give her godly ideas favor. May she recognize that You are the rock on which she can depend and stand. Minister Savage was elected April 16, 2019, as the MLA for Calgary-North West. A life-long Albertan, Savage has a Master of Laws in Environment and Energy, she practiced law for 13 years before taking a job as an advocate for the oil and gas industry. After working 9 years at Enbridge, she accepted a role as the Sr. Director of Policy and Regulatory Affairs at the Canadian Energy Pipeline Association (CEPA) in 2015. She has handled the pipeline industry’s large policy files, including regulatory reform, Indigenous reconciliation, legal, environment and climate change. Sonya Savage was appointed as Alberta’s Energy Minister on April 30, 2019.
