Father we thank You for the life of the Honourable Sylvia Jones, MPP for the Dufferin-Caledon Riding. Lord, the diversity of her portfolio is extensive, including Minister of Community Safety and Correctional Services and Commissioner, Board of Internal Economy. Father, You have witnessed the faithfulness of Your servant as she has served Ontario since 2007 as an elected official. May Your blessings rest upon her and her husband David, and their two children. Proverbs 19:11 declares “A person’s wisdom yields patience” and Colossians 1:11 states “being strengthened with all power according to his glorious might so that you may have great endurance and patience…” In every challenge that Sylvia faces, may a calm assurance and patience always be a fruit of God’s grace upon her. Sylvia Jones has served as the Member of Provincial Parliament Dufferin-Caledon since 2007. Currently she is serving as the Minister of Community Safety and Correctional Services and before that she was the Minister of Tourism, Culture and Sport. Sylvia also served as the Deputy Leader of the Official Opposition from September 2015 to May 2018. Sylvia has lived in Orangeville for over 30 years with her husband David. They are proud parents of two children.
