Hon. Travis Toews, Grande Prairie-Wapiti

Father, we thank you today for Hon. Travis Toews. We ask that you would fill him with wisdom and knowledge in everything he does, especially as he serves as Minister of Finance. We thank you for his commitment to the people of Alberta to serve them. We ask that you would bless him and his family, may they be united and blessed by you today. We pray this in Jesus’ name. Amen. 

 

Travis Toews was elected and sworn in as President of Treasury Board and Minister of Finance in April 2019. Mr. Toews has been managing director and co-owner of Melbern Group, a corporate family cattle ranching operation and an oil field environmental company, since 2002. He holds a CPA, CMA accounting designation and spent 12 years in a public accounting practice prior to pursuing business interests. Mr. Toews served as finance chair for the Alberta Beef Producers and director of the Canadian Agri-Food Trade Alliance. In 2012 he received the Queen Elizabeth II Diamond Jubilee Medal, for contributions to Canadian agriculture and trade. A lifelong resident of Alberta, Toews and his wife live in the Grande Prairie region and have three children and seven grandchildren. He enjoys downhill skiing and fly-fishing.
