Honourable Ricardo Miranda – MLA for Calgary-Cross

Heavenly Father, we pray this day for Hon. Mr. Ricardo Miranda to whom You have
given in particular the responsibility of being an MLA representing Calgary –
Cross and Minister of Culture and Tourism. We are grateful for his strong
leadership and the genuine care he exhibits for people of all walks of life.
May today he be blessed and have renewed energy for all he needs to get

Ricardo Miranda was elected to the Legislative Assembly of
Alberta, representing the constituency of Calgary-Cross, on May 5, 2015. On
February 2, 2016, he was appointed Minister of Culture and Tourism.

Preceding the ministry appointment, Mr. Miranda served as chair
of the Standing Committee on Alberta’s Economic Future and as a member of the
Select Special Ethics and Accountability Committee and the Standing Committee
on the Alberta Heritage Savings Trust Fund.

Prior to serving with the Legislative Assembly, Mr. Miranda
worked as a flight attendant for 15 years and as a servicing representative,
member organizer and researcher with the Canadian Union of Public Employees.

Mr. Miranda holds a bachelor of arts degree from the University
of Calgary, and is working towards a secondary degree in industrial relations
with a long term view of obtaining a PhD.
