Heavenly Father, You are the God of hope and the God of comfort.
Several of Canada’s elected leaders have recently made decisions for which there are no precedents; many are feeling the heavyweight of further life-changing choices; some face many days of personal quarantine. Our leaders need hope and they need comfort in these times.
Our nation has rushed to slow the spread of COVID-19, to keep the virus from infecting people of all walks, ages, and social levels. In the face of this formidable advance of illness, it is our hope in Christ that sets us apart. We know that nothing can separate us from the love of Christ. “Not things present, nor things to come, nor height, nor depth… nor any other created thing, will be able to separate us from the love of God, which is in Christ Jesus our Lord.” (Romans 8:37-39)
These are Your words, spoken to people who were feeling powerless and overwhelmed.
O God, instil within Canada’s leaders a sense of Your hopeful and comforting presence. Father, please use this season of life to point them to the One Who will never let them go, thus giving them true hope which is in You alone.
In Jesus’ precious and powerful name we pray, amen.
If you’re wondering why the daily prayers this week haven’t been for an individual parliamentarian, as usual, you may have missed our announcement earlier this week. Click here to find out why we’ve made this adjustment.
