Father, as we bring Megan Dykeman, NDP MLA Langley East to you, we know there are so many challenges that our province is dealing with, and that our MLAs face the same uncertainties. We pray you will be Megan’s strength and wisdom in these times. She has a passion for her community and for this province and desires to serve with her skills. May she know you are her strength and that you are guiding her decisions. We pray she will find times of rejuvenation for herself, times of refreshing so she can continue to fulfil the role she has been given. Thank you for her, bless her we pray, in your name, Amen.
Megan Dykeman was elected in 2020 as MLA for Langley East. Before being elected to provincial office, she served as Chair of the Langley Board of Education. First elected in 2011, she served three terms as a trustee with the Board. Megan holds a Master’s in International Relations from Macquarie University in Sydney, Australia, where her research focused on food security. In 2017, she completed a certificate in Negotiation and Leadership at Harvard Law School. Megan served for six years as Community Chair of the Langley Agricultural and Economic Advisory Committee, and Chair of the Blueberry Cannon Taskforce. She has served as president of the Langley Farmers’ Institute and the Parliamentarians Association of British Columbia. She is a founding “A” leader of ‘Otter Flying Feathers’ 4-H club. She lives on her specialty poultry farm in Langley with her two children and their farm’s turkeys, geese, ducks, quail, chickens, and goats.
