MLA Bernadette Smith, Point Douglas

Father, we come before you today on behalf of MLA Bernadette Smith and ask that your favor would be upon her life. We ask, Lord, that you would give her clarity of mind and that your Holy Spirit would empower her in every aspect of her life. We stand together with her today in payer as she is an advocate for North End families and dedicated to building up families and communities.  We ask, Lord, that you would guide her and lead her. We pray for a blessing of peace and joy in her life today and may your angels surround her and keep her safe. In Jesus name we pray, Amen……

Bernadette Smith was first elected in a bi-election in 2017 and was re-elected in 2019. She was born and raised in the North End and is a proud Indigenous mother and grandmother. Bernadette is the co-founder of both the Manitoba Coalition of Families of Missing and Murdered Women in Manitoba (CFMMWM) and the Drag the Red Initiative. Also, she annually organizes the No Stone Unturned Concert for Missing and Murdered in Manitoba. Bernadette’s sister, Claudette Osborne, has been missing from Winnipeg since 2008.
