MLA Bernadette Smith, Point Douglas

Lord, we thank you for Bernadette Smith, MLA for Point Douglas. We thank you for her voice of advocacy for indigenous women and children and ask that you would give her wisdom and revelation as to what she should be advocating for. We thank you also for her strong voice for mental health and addictions. We ask that you would bless her and her family and grant them good health. Place a hedge of protection about them. We ask this in Jesus’ name. Amen.

Bernadette Smith was first elected in a bi-election in 2017 and was re-elected in 2019. She was born and raised in the North End and is a proud Indigenous mother and grandmother. Bernadette is the co-founder of both the Manitoba Coalition of Families of Missing and Murdered Women in Manitoba (CFMMWM) and the Drag the Red Initiative. Also, she annually organizes the No Stone Unturned Concert for Missing and Murdered in Manitoba. Bernadette’s sister, Claudette Osborne, has been missing from Winnipeg since 2008.
