MLA David Buckingham, Saskatoon Westview

David Buckingham was elected MLA for Saskatoon Westview in the April 2016 provincial election. Currently David is the Legislative Secretary to the Minister of Immigration and Career Training. He also serves on the Standing Committee of the Economy and has been a board member on the Meewasin Valley Authority since May 2017. David has successfully completed his Fellowship with the Bowhay Institute of Legislative Leadership. Born and raised in a farming community near Shellbrook, Saskatchewan, David moved to Saskatoon in 1979. In 1988, David and his wife Karen moved to the community of Borden to raise their three children. During David’s career as a commercial driver, he served as the Mayor of Borden for two terms and as a Councillor for one term. David was the President of the Borden Parks and Recreation Committee and this background has aided him in his role as a Board Member of the Meewasin Valley Authority.
