Lord, we thank you for our MLA Deanne Crothers. We ask you, Lord, that you would open more doors for Deanne  so that her influence can be far reaching.  Due to unforeseen situations, many adults have not been able to complete their high school education. You have given Deanne insight into their world and her desire is to see their need for proper education increased.  Bless her Lord, as she looks beyond language and cultural barriers to aid women, new to Canada, to adjust to living in Manitoba. Lord, as Deanne pours her life out for so many, with the same measure will you pour back into her life and family the strength and blessing they need. In Jesus’ Name, Amen.

“We’re working hard to make people’s lives better. To protect and improve what matters to you is our top priority.”

First elected in October 2011, Deanne brings to the legislature a passion for making St. James an even better, more affordable place for families. As the new MLA for St. James, she looks forward to working as part of Greg Selinger’s team to keep providing the community with hard working and effective NDP representation.

Deanne is a teacher who appreciates the importance of education to today’s families and communities. She specializes in literacy and English as an additional language. For the past five years, she has worked with adults who have lost their jobs to improve their literacy skills before re-entering the job market. Prior to this, she worked as an adult literacy instructor to help them obtain their GED diplomas while improving their reading, writing and math skills.

Deanne’s volunteer activities include helping women new to Canada by teaching English and helping them adjust to life in Manitoba.
