Donna Barnett was elected MLA for Cariboo-Chilcotin in 2009 and re-elected in 2017. Donna currently serves as Official Opposition Critic for Rural Development. She also sits on the Select Standing Committees on Aboriginal Affairs and Health. A self-employed business owner and realtor, Donna served as mayor of the District of 100 Mile House from 1986 to 1990 and again from 1996 to 2008. With over 35 years of significant community involvement, Donna has been the recipient of many awards including the CCCTA Tourism Award in 2016 for being an outstanding voice for the Cariboo Chilcotin, the 2009 Rotary Paul Harris Achievement Award, the 2008 Women in Resource Communities Woman of the Year Award, and the 2006 BC Government Community Achievement Award. Donna has two grown children and one grandchild.
