Lord Jesus, please hear our prayer for Dr. Luanne Metz. Thank You so much for Dr. Metz and for her service in the Calgary-Varsity community. Bless Luanne and help her to discern the best way forward for healthcare in the province of Alberta. Thank You for her expertise in the disease of MS and for her passion for the public healthcare system in Canada. We pray that You would strengthen her and lead her in how to be the most effective advocate for these things within the government. Luanne Metz was elected as the Member of the Legislative Assembly for Calgary-Varsity on May 29, 2023. She currently serves on the Standing Committee on Families and Communities. Dr. Metz is an accomplished neurologist with over 30 years of experience in the medical field. She has also served as a professor at the University of Calgary, most recently as an Emerita professor. In addition to her professional work, she has been deeply involved in her community, founding Eyes Forward Alberta and serving in leadership roles with the Alberta Medical Association and the Canadian Network of MS Clinics. Her many honours include being named a Fellow of the Canadian Academy of Health Sciences and receiving the Medal of Distinguished Service from the Alberta Medical Association. Dr. Metz enjoys spending time with her grandchildren, gardening, playing board games, and traveling.
