Lord above, let us pause for a moment and pray a blessing over Mr. Drew Barnes during his service as MLA for Cypress-Medicine Hat. We ask for your wisdom as he sits on the Standing Committee on Alberta’s Economic Future. We pray that Mr. Barnes and those he works alongside would know and believe Deuteronomy 8:18, “You shall remember the Lord your God, for it is he who gives you power to get wealth, that he may confirm his covenant that he swore to your fathers, as it is this day.” (ESV) In the Name of Jesus we pray, Amen!
Drew Barnes was elected to his third term for Cypress-Medicine Hat on April 16, 2019. Mr. Barnes currently serves as a member of the Standing Committee on Public Accounts and the Standing Committee on Alberta’s Economic Future. Prior to serving, Drew owned and managed a successful real estate office in Medicine Hat and was a member of the Medicine Hat Real Estate Board from 1983 to 2009. An entrepreneur and businessman, Mr. Barnes owns a number of businesses in Medicine Hat as well as commercial and residential property. An active member of the community, Drew has served as campaign chair and president of the United Way of Southeastern Alberta. A former president of the Kiwanis Club and Opportunity Capital Corporation, Drew is also a past member of the Kinsmen and Hockey Hounds.
