MLA: Eric Foster – Vernon-Monashee (Demo)

Father, we thank you for Eric Foster, MLA for Vernon-Monashee.  We thank you for his years of service to our province as MLA and to the people of Lumby as Mayor and counsellor.  Lord, we ask that you would grant Eric great wisdom today as he serves his constituents and increased clarity around issues important to the residents in his riding. We ask for your continued blessing in his marriage, that he and Janice would have wonderful opportunities to rest and recharge over these summer months.  Amen.

Eric Foster was re-elected on May 14, 2013 as the MLA for Vernon-Monashee.

He has also returned to his role as Government Whip, and serves as a member of the Environment and Land Use Committee.

Eric’s previous committee experience includes stints on the Agenda and Priorities Committee and the Environment and Land Use Committee. He also served on numerous parliamentary committees including the Select Standing Committee on Legislative Initiatives and the Select Standing Committee on Parliamentary Reform, Ethical Conduct, Standing Orders, and Private Bills.

Prior to his 2009 election as MLA, Eric was the Mayor of the Village of Lumby for four years. He also served as a councillor for the Village of Lumby for 12 years, as well as a director on the North Okanagan Regional District.

Eric is a registered forest technician and a member of the Royal Canadian Mounted Police Auxiliary, as has served as a director of the North Okanagan Community Futures Development Corporation.

Eric and his wife Janice have been volunteering, working and living in the North Okanagan for more than 20 years.

Eric is a great supporter of sports, the outdoors, his community, arts and culture.
