Lord, I am thankful for MLA Garth Rowswell. I pray that You would give him strength for all his duties representing the people of Vermillion – Lloydminster – Wainwright and for the many community involvements and events that he attends. We are grateful for the background and experience Garth has had in agriculture and pray that You would give him fresh ideas and strategies on how to effectively meet the needs of the people he serves locally and provincially. Garth Rowswell was elected in 2019. He currently serves as a member of the Standing Committee on Public Accounts and the Standing Committee on Alberta’s Economic Future. Prior to serving, Mr. Rowswell was a financial adviser for over 16 years. He has an extensive background in agriculture business. He was a partner and majority owner of Valley Fertilizers, a farm supply business, and worked in various management capacities for large companies such as Farms.com, Sherritt Inc. and United Grain Growers. Mr. Rowswell is actively involved in his community. He has served as a board member and president of various clubs and organizations, including the Vermilion Vipers Swim Club, Vermilion Curling Club, Rotary Club of Lloydminster and the Canadian Association of Agri-Retailers. Mr. Rowswell obtained a bachelor of science in agriculture from the University of Alberta. He and his wife Luanne have two daughters.
