MLA Gary Grewal, Regina Northeast

In prayer we thank God for the giving spirit and heart of service that has been established in Gary Grewal. By faith we ask for protection for him in his travels within Regina and whenever his role requires that he travels outside the city. Father we ask that you would use Mr. Grewal’s technical, business, and governance experiences to bring awareness to new and emerging issues facing those sectors. Give him the courage and the opportunity to address what he sees as important and emerging issues for young families, for the Regina-Northeast community, and for the multi-cultural community in Regina. In Jesus’ name we pray. Amen.

Gary Grewal was elected as the MLA for Regina Northeast in 2020. He is the first Indo-Canadian elected to the Saskatchewan Assembly. When Gary immigrated to Canada 37 years ago, he chose Saskatchewan to build his future. He has, among others, held the position of president of the India Canada Association of Saskatchewan, president of Saskatchewan Cricket Association, director of the Canadian Cricket Association, chair of the India Pavilion during Regina’s annual Mosaic festivities hosted by the Regina Multicultural Council of Regina, and president of the Sikh Society, Regina. In 2016, Gary was honoured to serve as chair of the organizing committee for the first annual Sikh Day parade. In university, Gary studied Mechanical Engineering, and then worked in the hospitality sector for the next 25 years. Gary and his wife, Seema, have called Regina home since 1983. Gary’s three children have professional careers in Law, Engineering, and Social Justice, and he has two grandchildren.
