Gracious Heavenly Father, we pray today for Glenn van Dijken, MLA for Athabasca-Barrhead-Westlock. We thank You for Glenn and his ability to lead and encourage those in his sphere of influence. We thank You for his deep roots in Alberta and his concern for families to live wholesome and prosperous lives in this province. We bless him with wisdom and good counsel in his role as Deputy Chair of Committees. We pray that Your joy will be his strength in this next season. In Jesus’ name we pray, Amen.
Glenn van Dijken was re-elected to his second term in 2019. He represents the constituency of Athabasca-Barrhead-Westlock and currently serves as the chair of the Standing Committee on Alberta’s Economic Future. Prior to his election to the Legislative Assembly, Mr. van Dijken’s activities centred on operating his family grain farm in Dapp, Alberta. He co-chaired the Canadian Outstanding Young Farmer program from 2009 to 2010 and served on the board of directors for the Federated Co-operative Limited from 2011 to 2015, the Goldeye Foundation Society from 2011 to 2015 and the Neerlandia Co-operative Association Limited from 1996 to 2008. A founding member of the Western Hog Exchange (WHE), Mr. van Dijken was a WHE director for 12 years, between 1997 and 2011. Glenn also serves on his church council and volunteers as a hockey and baseball coach.
