We ask for encouragement and wisdom for Hon. Deanne Crothers as she serves the people of Manitoba. May God bless Deanne with patience as she makes difficult decisions each day. We ask this in the name of Jesus – Amen.
Minister of healthy living and seniors
“We’re working hard to make people’s lives better. To protect and improve what matters to you is our top priority.”
First elected in October 2011, Deanne brings to the legislature a
passion for making St. James an even better, more affordable place for
families. As the new MLA for St. James, she looks forward to working as
part of Greg Selinger’s team to keep providing the community with hard
working and effective NDP representation.
Deanne is a teacher who appreciates the importance of education to
today’s families and communities. She specializes in literacy and
English as an additional language. For the past five years, she has
worked with adults who have lost their jobs to improve their literacy
skills before re-entering the job market. Prior to this, she worked as
an adult literacy instructor to help them obtain their GED diplomas
while improving their reading, writing and math skills.
Deanne’s volunteer activities include helping women new to Canada by
teaching English and helping them adjust to life in Manitoba.
