As Minister of Aboriginal Relations and Reconciliation, we pray earnestly for wisdom for MLA:John Rustad to lead with clear vision and understanding in this important appointment. Lord, guide and direct him as he deals with the many vital issues and challenges requiring right and sound decisions. May You grant him good favour with all those he works with. John Rustad was re-elected to represent the riding of Nechako Lakes on May 14, 2013, and was appointed Minister of Aboriginal Relations and Reconciliation on June 10, 2013.
He was first elected in 2005, and previously served as Parliamentary Secretary for Forestry to the Minister of Forests, Lands and Natural Resource Operations. He has also served as a member of the Environment and Land Use Committee, the Legislative Review Committee, Treasury Board, and many parliamentary committees including the Select Standing Committees on Education; Public Accounts; and, Health.
John was born and raised in Prince George and has lived all of his life in northern B.C. He grew up enjoying fishing and hunting. In 2009, he and his wife Kim moved to Cluculz Lake where they enjoy the peace and beauty of rural living.
