MLA Hon Lori Sigurdson, Edmonton-Riverview

We
thank You Lord for the privilege of praying for the Honourable Lori Sigurdson
today. Help her to represent the people of Edmonton-Renfrew well.  We ask
that You grant Hon.Sigurdson wisdom as she makes decisions concerning
the seniors in our province and help her to create an atmosphere that honours
the elderly of our province. Place people around her that will strengthen and
encourage her. We thank You for Your peace, protection and blessing upon her
life and the life of her family.

The Honourable Lori Sigurdson was elected to the Legislative Assembly of Alberta, representing the constituency of Edmonton-Riverview, on May 5, 2015. She currently serves as the Minister of Seniors and Housing, a position she has held since February 2, 2016. Prior to this, she served as Minister of Innovation and Advanced Education as well as Minister of Jobs, Skills, Training and Labour.
During her 25-year career as a social worker, she worked in many fields of practice, such as child welfare, mental health, community development, and social policy. She also shared her knowledge and experience with students as an instructor of social work at the University of Calgary, MacEwan University, and NorQuest College.
In recognition of her outstanding contributions to the profession of social work and to social justice, Ms. Sigurdson was awarded the John Hutton Memorial Award for social action and policy in 2017.
