Heavenly Father, we thank You for MLA James Thorsteinson. We thank You for his dedication to his community, his constituents, and our province. We look to You to grant him wisdom in the challenges of his role. We ask for favour and safety as he travels, and for a balance of time connecting with his family. In the name of Jesus, Amen.
James Thorsteinson was first elected MLA for Cut Knife-Turtleford in 2024. A third-generation rancher, James spent most of his life working in the agricultural sector, as well as some contract work in the oilfield. Having been a long time 4H member, he enjoys giving back to the program by volunteering as a judge at local Achievement Days and public speaking events. A strong advocate for mental health, he has served on the board of the Libbie Young Center in Lloydminster, which provides housing, programming, and education for people struggling with their mental health. James served as the Saskatchewan Party President from 2014 to 2023. He resides on his cattle ranch north of Maidstone. He and his wife, Lana, have three sons and two future daughters in law.
