MLA Janet Eremenko, Calgary-Currie

Father, we thank You for Janet. We know You will guide her as she works diligently to provide for the needs of all her constituents. Thank You for Janet’s reputation as a lifelong Calgarian dedicated to making life more affordable for families. With her degree in International Development, and more than a decade of not-for-profit experience in social policy and community development, Janet is focused on addressing the root causes of poverty in our communities. Janet Eremenko was elected as the Member of the Legislative Assembly for Calgary-Currie on May 29, 2023. MLA Eremenko is currently a member of the Standing Committee on Legislative Offices. Before joining the Legislative Assembly, MLA Eremenko was a Stewardship and Reporting Officer with Windmill Microlending until 2023. Prior to that she was a Senior Policy Strategist at Vibrant Communities Calgary and an Employee Relations Specialist for Shaw Communications. MLA Eremenko acted as the Roundtable Liaison for the Fig Tree Foundation in 2018 and was a frequent Book Sale volunteer for Calgary Reads and with their First 2000 Days Network from 2015 to 2018. Born and raised in Calgary, she graduated with a bachelor of arts in International Development with a specialization in politics and public administration from the University of Guelph. MLA Eremenko is very proud of her Ukrainian heritage and her family’s farming background. She is married, and she and her Francophone husband raise their two children in a bilingual household. She enjoys a keen love of the Canadian Rockies, Canadian artists and literature and is an outdoor enthusiast.
