MLA Jennifer Bowes, Saskatoon University

God, we thank you today for MLA Jennifer Bowes. We pray you would fill her with courage, strength, and wisdom to stand up for what is right, and to stand up for the people who don’t have a voice. We pray you would comfort her in her work, may she not become discouraged or dismayed, but may she keep on doing the work you have put before. Bless her we pray Lord. Amen.

Jennifer Bowes was elected MLA for Saskatoon University in 2020. She is the opposition critic for Advanced Education, Innovation, and Status of Women, and the associate critic for Labour. She is also the Opposition Deputy Whip. Jennifer was born in Saskatoon and grew up in Waldheim, Saskatchewan. After graduating from high school, Jennifer attended Queen’s University in Kingston, Ontario where she completed a BA in Psychology. After university, Jennifer worked with the Ministry of Corrections at the Saskatoon Correctional Centre. During this time, she served as Director and then Secretary for the board of the Elizabeth Fry Society of Saskatchewan. Jennifer has served overseas with CUSO International, where she worked with a local human rights NGO in Burma (Myanmar) to empower women to seek positions of leadership within their communities and the broader political sphere. Prior to her election, Jennifer worked for SEIU West as an advocate for employees in the healthcare sector.
