Jim Maloway has represented the people of Elmwood both as MLA and Member of Parliament every year since 1986, when he was first elected to the Manitoba Legislative Assembly. On March 6, 2019 Jim became Critic for Infrastructure, Consumer Affairs, and chairperson of the Public Accounts Committee. Jim has been a successful small business owner since 1978 and pioneered the development of Manitoba’s cutting edge eCommerce legislation. Jim has also served for many years on the Public Accounts Committee, helping the province review the best ideas from other jurisdictions and make government more efficient. Between 2008 and 2011, Jim served as Member of Parliament for Elmwood-Transcona. As an MP, Jim introduced Canada’s first air passenger bill of rights, which directly resulted in the airline industry itself adopting many of the provisions of the bill. When he returned to the Manitoba Legislature, Jim served as Legislative Assistant to the Minister of Finance.
