MLA Jim Maloway, Elmwood

This early morning hour, we offer up a prayer for MLA Jim Maloway, representing the fine people of Elmwood. As with all the people of Manitoba, there are common needs as well as needs specific to different areas. We pray for our member, that with his years of experience and the wisdom endowed by You, he may continue to serve his people with honour and distinction. We ask this in the name of the Father, the Son, and the Holy Spirit. Amen!

Jim Maloway has represented the people of Elmwood both as MLA and Member of Parliament every year since 1986, when he was first elected to the Manitoba Legislative Assembly. On March 6, 2019 Jim became Critic for Infrastructure, Consumer Affairs, and chairperson of the Public Accounts Committee. Jim has been a successful small business owner since 1978 and pioneered the development of Manitoba’s cutting edge eCommerce legislation. Jim has also served for many years on the Public Accounts Committee, helping the province review the best ideas from other jurisdictions and make government more efficient. Between 2008 and 2011, Jim served as Member of Parliament for Elmwood-Transcona. As an MP, Jim introduced Canada’s first air passenger bill of rights, which directly resulted in the airline industry itself adopting many of the provisions of the bill. When he returned to the Manitoba Legislature, Jim served as Legislative Assistant to the Minister of Finance.
