Father as we come to your throne room in prayer we raise up John Martin who serves in the Chilliwack area before you. Romans 13:1 “Let every person be subject to the governing authorities. For there is no authority except from God, and those that exist have been instituted by God.” We thank you for the wealth of wisdom John brings to Government as he serves as labor critic for the official opposition. As John comes back to Victoria after the summer recess we ask for a special blessing of wisdom and grace. John was elected MLA for Chilliwack in 2013, and re-elected in 2017. Prior to his election to the Legislature, John worked as a criminologist and faculty member in the School of Criminology at the University of the Fraser Valley. Raised in the Lower Mainland, John resides in Chilliwack with his wife, Margaret, and their two Shetland Sheepdogs, Blue and The Dude. A long-time martial artist and musician, he is a member of the Royal Canadian Legion in Chilliwack and a self-proclaimed King of the Grill Pitmaster.
