MLA: John Yap – Richmond-Steveston (Demo)

God, we thank You for MLA: John Yap. Thank You for his life, his work and his desire to serve others. We pray for him today and ask that You would be with him and help him with every aspect of his work. Give him Your wisdom and insight so that his work will go well and that those he serves will benefit from it. We ask this in Jesus’ Name, Amen.

On May 14th 2013, John Yap was re-elected to a third term as MLA for Richmond-Steveston.

He was appointed Parliamentary Secretary to the Minister of Justice and Attorney General for Liquor Policy Reform and serves on the Cabinet Committee for a Strong Economy, as well as the committee for Legislative Review.

John Yap served as Minister of Advanced Education, Innovation and Technology and Minister Responsible for Multiculturalism from September 5, 2012 to March 2013.

Previously, John served as the Minister of State for Climate Action and as the chair of the Government Caucus. He was also a member of the Treasury Board and the Cabinet Committee on Legislative Review. John also served on several Select Standing Committees including Public Accounts, Crown Corporations, as well as Finance and Government Services. He has also served as a member of the Special Committee on Sustainable Aquaculture.

John attended the University of British Columbia and graduated with a Bachelor of Science in Genetics and obtained his Masters of Business Administration.
