MLA: Kathy Corrigan – Burnaby-Deer Lake (Demo)

Father, we humbly approach Your throne of grace on behalf of MLA: Kathy Corrigan and pray especially for Your leading and sound direction for her in her important role as Opposition Critic to the Attorney General. May You reward her with evidence that she is making a difference for right and needed change. We pray she and her family be abundantly blessed with good health and Your peace and joy. We thank You, Lord, and know You care and undertake for every request presented. In the Name of Jesus. Amen.

Kathy Corrigan was first elected MLA for Burnaby-Deer Lake in 2009 and re-elected in May 2013.

She serves as Opposition Critic for Public Safety and the Solicitor General.

A strong advocate for public education, Kathy served three terms on the Burnaby Board of Education (1999-2008) and was board chair in 2007 and 2008. She has served on numerous district committees and was also a member of the B.C. School Trustees’ Provincial Council.

Kathy is a lawyer and public policy researcher by profession. She has also edited a legal journal and has written about privatization and trade agreements.

As a longtime community volunteer, Kathy has served on parent advisory committees, the Burnaby Minor Hockey Association, the Burnaby and New Westminster Ringette Association, the Lakeside Advisory Board and other organizations.

She and husband Derek Corrigan have lived in Burnaby since 1977. They have four grown children.
