MLA Laila Goodridge, Fort McMurray-Lac La Biche

Dear heavenly Father, today we lift up in prayer our sister, Miss Laila Goodridge, MLA for Fort McMurray-Lac La Biche. We ask that you guide her in her work of defending and diversifying Alberta’s energy sector. As Psalm 24:1 says, “The earth is the Lord’s and the fullness thereof, the world and those who dwell therein.” (ESV) We pray that you guide Miss Goodridge’s efforts to honour and protect your land. We pray this in the mighty name of Jesus Christ, Amen.

Laila Goodridge was first elected in a 2018 by-election. She was re-elected to represent the constituency of Fort McMurray-Lac La Biche on April 16, 2019. She currently serves as chair of the Standing Committee on Families and Communities, member of the Special Standing Committee on Members’ Services and Select Special Democratic Accountability Committee. Prior to her election, Ms. Goodridge worked for Members of the Legislative Assembly of Alberta. She has also previously worked for the Minister of the Environment in Ottawa and spent almost five years working in the oil sands in Fort McMurray. Ms. Goodridge’s community involvement has included a variety of roles within both provincial and federal political boards and she’s an active volunteer within the Regional Municipality of Wood Buffalo. She is fluent in French and holds a bachelor of arts degree from University of Alberta’s Campus Saint-Jean. Ms. Goodridge was born and raised in Fort McMurray.
