MLA Laurie Throness, Chilliwack-Kent

Heavenly Father, today we cover MLA Laurie Throness in our prayer. We pray the whole armour of God – Ephesians 6:10-18 over Laurie and his family. Father may his light for you shine in his constituency, with his colleagues, and Laurie’s circle of influence continue to give him wisdom as he serves in Government. Laurie’s role for children and family development, and childcare is a very important position. Pour out your blessing upon him, in Jesus name we pray Amen.   ….. 

Laurie Throness was elected MLA for Chilliwack-Hope in 2013 and re-elected as MLA for the newly aligned riding, Chilliwack-Kent, in 2017. He currently serves as the Official Opposition Critic for Children and Family Development and Child Care and is a member of the Select Standing Committees on Children and Youth and Parliamentary Reform, Ethical Conduct, Standing Orders and Private Bills. Laurie is a supporter of continuing education and lifelong learning. A graduate of Canadian Bible College in Regina with a degree in biblical studies, Laurie later went on to earn a degree in history from Waterloo University and a master’s degree in public administration from Queen’s University. In 2002, Laurie pursued a PhD in history at Cambridge University in the UK.
