MLA: Marc Dalton – Maple Ridge-Mission (Demo)

We give grateful thanks that MLA: Marc Dalton has been chosen once again by his constituents to serve in our legislature. We pray You will keep him sensitive and alert to the sound of Your voice as he capably fulfills the role he has been called to. We pray Your daily protection  and safety in travel over Marc and his family. Grant them quality refreshing times together as they juggle family time and work. In Jesus’ strong name, we pray. Amen.

Marc Dalton was re-elected as MLA for Maple Ridge-Mission on May 14, 2013.

Marc was appointed Deputy Chair, Committee of the Whole in June 2013 and currently serves as Parliamentary Secretary to the Minister of Education for the Independent School Sector. He is a member of the Cabinet Committee on Secure Tomorrow.

Previously, Marc served as the Parliamentary Secretary to the Minister of Education for Independent Schools, and as a member of the Families First Cabinet Committee. He was also a member of the Select Standing Committees on Education, Aboriginal Affairs and Children and Youth, as well as the Special Committee to Review the Freedom of Information and Privacy Act.

Since being elected, Marc has been on the political steering committee for Experience The Fraser, a visionary trails and tourism project for both sides of the Fraser between Hope and the ocean.

Before being elected to the Legislative Assembly, Marc worked as a long-time teacher in the Maple Ridge School District at both the elementary and high school levels. He has a Bachelor’s Degree in French and History and a Master’s Degree in Educational Leadership, both from SFU.

Raised in a military family, he lived in bases across the country and served in the Canadian Armed Forces Reserves after graduating. He is a member of the Royal Canadian Legion Maple Ridge.

Marc is Aboriginal (Metis) and speaks French. He has represented British Columbia at the Ministerial Conference on the Canadian Francophonie.

He is a resident of Maple Ridge and has been married to his wife, Marlene, for 27 years. They have three grown children, Justin, Simone and Hannah.
