Heavenly Father, we lift up MLA Marvin Hunt from the Port Coquitlam Constituency. We pray he would sense Your love and goodness as he goes about his work today. May he feel encouraged as he serves the people of his community and province. We pray that You would give him the strength to carry out the many tasks

Marvin Hunt was first elected to the Legislature in 2013 and re-elected in 2017. Currently, Marvin serves as the official opposition critic on Social Development and Poverty Reduction. Prior to entering provincial politics, Marvin was first elected to Surrey City Council in 1987. He served in many roles in local politics, including chair of Metro Vancouver’s Board, chair of the International Committee of the Federation of Canadian Municipalities, and president of the Union of BC Municipalities. Marvin also initiated the development of Metro Vancouver’s Sustainable Region Initiative in 2002. Marvin and his wife Ruth are long-time Surrey residents and share six children and seventeen grandchildren.
